A Real Story of a Real Wedding: Sam & Kevin at Meon Valley Marriott Hotel, Hampshire – a wedding reportage approach.
As a wedding photojournalist I have to be prepared for each and every eventuality. No two weddings are ever the same, so when Sam and Kevin asked me to photograph their small, intimate and fun wedding at the Meon Valley Marriott Hotel, I was both intrigued and fascinated as to what the day would throw at me.
Now just because someone is a having a small wedding there’s no reason to think it won’t throw up all the emotions, moments and drama of a much bigger wedding. And Sam and Kevin’s day certainly didn’t disappoint.
Despite the miserbale wet October weather outside, things inside were anything but miserable – it really was a wedding of laughs. As the Bride, Sam really had to fight the giggles throughout the ceremony and that wasn’t easy with both Kevin and the Registrar finding every opportunity to make her laugh. Of course, this was perfect for me…wedding photojournalism is really a great way of capturing all those genuine, candid and funny moments.
Whilst there was no evening reception there was certainly a lot of fun to be had throughout the wedding breakfast and speeches, as I’m sure my wedding reportage approach demonstrates.
So, the one thing Sam and Kevin’s Meon Valley Marriott Hotel wedding photography demonstrates: a small wedding can certainly still pack a big punch!

Documenting The Real Story Of Your Wedding. Never Dictating it.
My Wedding Stories show you a chronological selection of photos from throughout a REAL wedding day, rather than just images specially selected for a portfolio (us photographers love to do that.) After all, your wedding photography should be about your entire day rather than the very best images from the day. I hope this not only gives you a feel of a whole wedding day but also demonstrates how my wedding photojournalism captures the natural moments, candid emotions and real events of the day – without the need to set up or stage fake moments.
If you are getting married and enjoy my documentary wedding photography approach, then I’d really love to chat to you about your plans. Drop me a line here.
