Jodi & Simon’s Wonderful Wedding Story in the heart of the Capital City
I’d really been looking forward to Jodi and Simon’s wedding at the Hyatt Regency Churchill in Portman Square, London. When we had met originally it was clear from the very outset that they both “got” and wanted a documentary wedding photography approach to capture all the real moments and genuine emotions of their unique wedding story. They were very relaxed about portraits and group shots – the important thing for them was documenting their wedding day as it unfolded naturally. This was all music to my ears, as telling a wedding story is central to all I do, so I couldn’t wait to get started.
And what a wedding story it was. Even looking back now, I am amazed how much they packed into their day – it’s no secret that I ended up with more photos from their wedding than any other I have shot. Jodi is from a Jewish family, and whilst not strictly a Jewish wedding, the day was full of fun, laughter and, of course, much love that did follow some of the sequences of a Jewish wedding. Without doubt it packed in lots of emotion and intensity and allowed me to capture, what one may think of as, more traditional Jewish wedding photography.
The Hyatt Regency Churchill, just off of Oxford Street, is certainly a lavish wedding venue, with big beautiful rooms for the pre-wedding preparations right through to a glitzy dancefloor for the evening, complete with a big cabaret band to entertain the guests.
It was a fantastic day throughout and I really do hope you enjoy some of he small selection of photos that follow, from this wonderful wedding story.
