I’m pleased to say I am now back on the photo sharing website platform Flickr, after taking a rest from it for a couple of years and I would love for you to follow me on there if you’re member.
I will be using Flickr predominantly for my personal street photography work but some of my documentary wedding photography will turn up there from time to time.
Street photography has always been my passion and is, in many ways, the creative engine that drives my wedding photojournalism. When shooting out on the street I’m able to hone my creative eye, reaction times and try out new techniques – all of which help me to then provide the kind of creative and unique wedding photojournalism I deliver for my wedding clients who are looking for something different from the traditional posed and staged wedding photography.
Of course, the subjects of my street photography are very different to the subjects I’m shooting at weddings, but my approach to both is very similar…it’s always about capturing real moments that rise above the usual in a discrete, unobtrusive and candid way. Being a wedding photojournalist I like to think of myself as a wedding storyteller who captures your individual and authentic wedding story but, given how important street photography is to everything I do photographically, perhaps I should be referring to myself as the street photography wedding photojournalist? Or even the wedding street photographer?
Either way, be sure to check out my candid street photography work on Flickr as it starts appearing (it might need filling up a bit at the moment!)
