Yes Awards, Schwards & Making Mum Proud!
Us wedding photographers love talking about our awards, don’t we? “Award-winning wedding photographer” has fast become another of those wedding cliches. In fact, you’ll be hard pushed to find a non award-winning wedding photographer these days!
To be honest, a few awards are worth boasting about but most are pretty meaningless. So you should take all of that with a pinch of salt and don’t be guided by talk of awards, blog features or pretty badges sprayed all over a website.
Yes I’m a qualifying member of the internationally recognised and acclaimed Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA). Yes, I’ve won numerous awards with them over the years. Yes I’ve been featured here and printed about there. And yes, it’s all very nice for the ego from time to time. But apart from making my mum feel very proud of me, I doubt any of that really impresses you all that much.
Ultimately all that should really matter to you is:
- My natural, candid and fine art style of wedding photography is right for you.
- My unobtrusive, relaxed and low key approach is right for your wedding day.
- I’m the right person for you and your guests (I’m going to spend a long time with you all!)
So if you think that might the case, or you’d like to find out if it is, then lets hook up over a coffee (or something stronger if you prefer) for a relaxed, non-obligatory chat about your wedding plans. And I promise…the beers or muffins will be on me (I also definitely promise not to bring my mum along either!)
